At the corner of State and Randolph

Hmm, it's been a while hasn't it?

Here I sit, in a bookstore's second floor overlooking Chicago's State Street whilst stealing Wi-Fi from any number of conceivable locations in the area. I like this place. So far everyone has been very nice and helpful with directions and my points of interest, even so much as to walk with me to the correct bus stops on their way to their own destinations. Didn't expect that.

Neat.

I dare not attempt to ride any of the rails without the guidance of either a close friend or a mechanical A.I. partner. I can get around city streets quite easily but I shan't be so dumb as to think I can navigate a complex subway system without prior knowledge.

My list of theatres to visit is long and laughable given that I do not have a car but I remain persistent! I want to at the very least see the Second City Skybox and ComedySportz. I'd also like to get information at The Annoyance, I.O., and Playground theatres if possible. I've narrowed down the neighborhoods I want to scan thru to 3-4 different areas so at least that noise is lessened. I gotta admit, I've only been here 2 hours but it's much different than I expected. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, but I didn't expect it to be so nice. There's more musical theatre here than I thought as well, so that's a plus.

It's freezing right now but hey, that's just about anywhere in the U.S. right now.

I'll have more to report later...
